BIO

I'm an abstract painter based in Philadelphia. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, I moved to the United States in my early twenties. I earned my bachelor's degree from the National University of Culture and Arts in Kyiv before continuing my studies at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where I received a MA in Art Therapy.

My background in art and psychology has shaped the way I create. I look beyond aesthetics and developed a visual language based on emotional depth and psychological insight. I practice yoga and meditation, and draw inspiration from nature, which keeps me grounded. I pay close attention to materials, texture, and movement, allowing each painting to evolve intuitively.

Life is not linear, and neither is my work. I've had many different careers, but art has remained the one constant throughout my entire life. It is where everything I have experienced comes together.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"A painting is not a picture of an experience; it is an experience." - Mark Rothko

I create large-scale abstract paintings where movement and stillness coexist in balance. My work explores the tension between spontaneity and control, softness and strength, inviting viewers to wander through shifting forms, discover moments of energy, and ultimately settle into a place of balance and peace.

Influenced by my background in psychotherapy, my work explores the relationship between emotion, the psyche, and the creative process while drawing visual inspiration from the organic rhythms of nature. Rather than depicting a specific landscape, my paintings evoke places that feel both familiar and imagined, encouraging an emotional rather than literal experience.

Each painting begins with an intuitive exploration of color, texture, and gesture. Through layers of paint and an ongoing dialogue between instinct and intention, forms gradually emerge and evolve. I embrace moments of uncertainty as an essential part of the process, allowing the work to reveal itself over time. The resulting compositions remain open and suggestive, leaving space for personal interpretation and inviting you to complete the experience in your own way.
